EPISODE 0.058: FISTS OF THE YECCHI

Episode 0.058: Fists Of The Yecchi

(48.6 MB; 1:46:18 MIN)

The original post was missing the end of the story!  The end has been tacked on, ensuring less confusing listening.

After Dr. Von Martinez starts the next Ice Age by fiddling with Doctor Despicable's Weather molestation device - or at least what seems to be the next Ice Age - Captain Bonemarrow, Dr. Von Martinez, Adolph and I must travel the frozen wasteland to find the parts to fix Doc's machine.  But it's more the elements they must brave...

Can we survive the dreaded Yecchi?  Can beef jerky tame the savage beast?  Can Prof. Picklepepper save the world without a library card?  and can Eugene really drive anyone away by simply talking?

While we try to survive frostbite and Yecchi bite, you get to listen to two Escape episodes and a Nightfall episode concerning the horrors of the cold!  Taliesin avoids answering whether or not vampire fangs are susceptible to ice cream freeze when he discusses cold weather bloodsuckers, courtesy of Taliesin Meets The Vampires.

Episode 0.057: The Indy Paracon
(47.9 MB; 1:44:46 MIN)

I took a trip to the first annual Indy Paracon, a paranormal convention in Danville, Indiana, and spoke with four different ghost hunters - Chris Dedman, Paul Browning (Clarksville Ghost Hunters), Michael D. McDonald (Kindred Moon Paranormal Society) and Sarah Neher (In Nomine Paranormal Research).  I also offer up three ghost tales from the Hall Of Fantasy, Beyond Midnight and Fear On Four.

THE BRAND SPANKIN' NEW FREQUENCY LITE PAGE

As some of you may know, we edit the original wraparound stories into their very own self-contained audio drama (emphasis on the "audio", not so much on the "drama").  They've been featured on the Sonic Society's podcast, the Jack And Shannon Show.  We also had a page set up for those with a link to the right, but frankly, the page sucked.  I wasn't crazy about the layout or how difficult it was to update, and Doc hated all the pastel colors I didn't notice because I'm terribly colorblind.  In came Dr. Wilheim Von Martinez to save the day!  After accidently re-inventing the Tofurkey, he set up a marvelous new Frequency Lite page, one that is more organized and allows for comments.  We'll be expanding the page to include character and actor bios, as well as other fun stuff.  Check it out!

EPISODE 0.056: FOR YOUR BRAIN ONLY

Episode 0.056: For Your Brain Only
(35.1 MB; 1:16:46 MIN)

As Dr. Von Martinez and Adolph move into Castle Despicable, Captain Bonemarrow finds himself missing the old Von Martinez lab, whereas I do not.  In fact, I mention one of a laundry list of bad experiences that seemed to be initiated by merely entering Von Martinez' house.  Von Martinez gets on the wrong side of international superspy John Baines, then accidentally swaps minds with me before Baines chases us around town.  Can we fix Von Martinez brain-swapping machine before I spent the rest of Von Martinez' life in a high-security prison?

While we try to survive yet another Von Martinez fiasco, you get to listen to the two-part Suspense adaptation of Curt Siodmak's "Donovan's Brain"!

Episode 0.055: I Had Relations With A Martian
(46.2 MB; 1:41:05 MIN)

On a human harvesting (and killing) trip to Earth, Martian warlord Big Zaboo decides she (yes, she) needs a boyfriend... and drafts Dr. Wilheim Von Martinez for the job!  Will Dr. Von Martinez be forced to have relations with Big Zaboo forever?  Will the possessive Zaboo kill Doctor Despicable and myself to alleviate having to deal with Von Martinez' friends?  Will Doc Defiant finally nab Von Martinez?  And who microwaves Ding Dongs, anyway?

While we try to survive Von Martinez' only known relationship, you get to listen to alien love-themed OTR from the one-episode "series" Fantasy and the Canadian series Vanishing Point, as well as a new episode of the Flights Of Fright featuring the Sonic Society's Shannon Hilchie!  Taliesin gives us some vampiric love, courtesy of Taliesin Meets The Vampires.

Episode 0.054: Now That's The Shat
(45.8 MB; 1:40:09 MIN)

Can you believe Dr. Von Martinez has no idea who William Shatner is?  Okay, so maybe it's not that unbelievable.  Listen to three audio selections featuring the Shat, including two Zero Hour episodes and a Caedmon album of the Shat reading Henry Kuttner's "Mimsy Were The Borogoves".

Episode 0.053: Adolph The Barbarian
(45.8 MB; 1:40:09 MIN)

Doc decides the easiest way to save about $30 a month on electricity to power his freezer is to create a rift in time to the Ice Age - however, he ends up dialing into a barbarian wasteland in the year 570.  Captain Bonemarrow, Dr. Von Martinez and Adolph join us on a hunt for the cause of the anomaly, where we find a barbarian who bears more than just a striking resemblance to Adolph...

While we try to pass for barbarians, you get to listen to barbarian-related audio drama, including a He-Man storybook recording!

Zombie is yelling at me and it's making my ears hurt!  All I wanted to do was go to the bathroom.  It's not my fault that the pipes and the six inches of water on the floor lead me to his recording studio and not the toilet!  Also, for the Internet record, I LOVE BACON!!!
