EPISODE 0.058: FISTS OF THE YECCHI

Episode 0.058: Fists Of The Yecchi

(48.6 MB; 1:46:18 MIN)

The original post was missing the end of the story!  The end has been tacked on, ensuring less confusing listening.

After Dr. Von Martinez starts the next Ice Age by fiddling with Doctor Despicable's Weather molestation device - or at least what seems to be the next Ice Age - Captain Bonemarrow, Dr. Von Martinez, Adolph and I must travel the frozen wasteland to find the parts to fix Doc's machine.  But it's more the elements they must brave...

Can we survive the dreaded Yecchi?  Can beef jerky tame the savage beast?  Can Prof. Picklepepper save the world without a library card?  and can Eugene really drive anyone away by simply talking?

While we try to survive frostbite and Yecchi bite, you get to listen to two Escape episodes and a Nightfall episode concerning the horrors of the cold!  Taliesin avoids answering whether or not vampire fangs are susceptible to ice cream freeze when he discusses cold weather bloodsuckers, courtesy of Taliesin Meets The Vampires.

I can't believe there are no comments on this alternately hilarious and chilling (not a pun) podcast! The funny parts were so funny, even *I* laughed! When no one was looking.

Doesn't mean there's no one out here. Eugene dispensed with Satan, and now he makes the Snow Beast cry and stomp off. Where to? Perhaps Snow Beast went home to cry to Mommie. Sequel? Stories and films set in snowy and icy places are my favorite. Trouble is, things can get sticky. In 'The Edge," Bart the Bear did an Oscar peformance stalking Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin AFTER he ate the cameraman. Polar Expedition movies bring visions of Glenn Strange and James Arness, who, when costumed, are scary enough, because they are HUGE and they want to rip out throats and eat people. The more frightening aspect is if they decide to halt the 'violence' and choose a mate. Didn't Doctor Von Martinez have a similar experience recently?

The listener takes exception to Taliesin's nit-picking of "Thirty Days of Night." The DVD's special feature, "The making of Thirty Days of Night," clearly depicts the difficulties and creativity involved in the production. It is a pretty good vampire movie, and I don't really remember the cameras shaking. Maybe because it is a pretty good vampire movie. Ebert gave it three thumbs up. Nah! Just kidding. Taliesin, you're cool, but I just can't agree with you on this one.

In a short 22 years, we will have celebrated the 100th anniversary of the introduction into American and Worldwide consciousness of the Bela Lugosi School of Theatrical Speech! No verbal tradition, no national song or oath, no religious mantra is as easy on the tongue as "I vant to bite your nyeck and drrrink your blood!" and "I never drrrink............wine." It's gonna be a long summer.

j-james, perhaps the last para of my actual review will clarify "As a take your brain out (and you’ll have to because of the obvious holes, not all of which have been mentioned) this is an above average horror/action flick with a survival horror bent. It is not, however, the iconic film I hoped to see. 5.5 out of 10." http://taliesinttlg.blogspot.com/2008/04/30-days-of-night-review.html

It was full of holes - no production difficulties can explain that away. I hoped for an 8 or 9 out of 10 movie unfortunately.

Hey, but each to their own - if you enjoyed the flick, that's great... the beauty of vampire movies is there is something for everyone.
