Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that someone with such a patently Welsh name as "Dr. Gwynplaine" has a German or somehow Slavic accent? Operator, get me the Dialect Police... Dialect Police? Get me Sgt. Staccato...

The name Gwynplaine comes from lead character in the the movie The Man Who Laughs (based on a novel by Victor Hugo) and staring German actor Conrad Veidt. ZA wanted this new villain to sound like Conrad Veidt thus the name connection. An interesting side note- comic artist Bob Kane used Veidt's/Gwynplaine's lanky physique and grotesque grin as the visual inspiration for the Joker, Batman's archenemy.

Well, ZA specifically wrote the Dwight character to sound like Jimmy Stewart because he thought that would be funny. I admit my Stewart isn't the greatest, but I gave it a shot. Pow!

And there's nothing wrong with you James Stewart impersonation voice - I mean, I did recognize that it was James Stewart! Now if we can only get ZA to write you a part that sounds like Jimmy Durante...

There is! And I posted it this morning (that's two days later for everyone not reading this on the morning I speak of)! I barely got the podcast posted on Halloween before I had to attend a wedding reception. Bad weekend for having to finish mixing and posting a podcast...

I'm glad FoF saved your Halloween! I had a wedding reception to go to, and despite talking about horror movies quite a bit, it really didn't replace sitting on the sofa and watching as many horror flicks in a single night, so I understand.

Schwarzenegger and Jimmy Stewart? There were at least TWICE as many doorbells ringing in .066 as in .021, "Getting into the Ghoultide Spirit." Will ZA be able to top Halloween 2009's get-together with the anticipated Zombie Astronaut's Andy Williams Christmas Special?
I'm kind of partial to Eugene chasing away the bad guys, but getting beaten up by "a purse with a Volkswagen inside," well, I'm still trying to get the pretzel out of my throat. Hilarious! Congrats.

LOL - I'll have to try to work in a podcast roughly every two years that tries to break the "Doorbell In A Single Episode" record.
I like Eugene taking care of himself as well, but it's also nice that Eugene has a mommy willing to swing a purse of violence on his behalf. If only Dwight Jr. was so lucky.
